PRESENTATION OF SLOVAK CINEMA ABROAD

The Presentation of Slovak Cinema and Audiovision Abroad Project was established in 2008 on the basis of the Manifesto of the Slovak Government under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture. As the first phase of the Project in 2009-2011 was successful, in 2011 the Ministry of Culture supported the continuation of the project in 2012-2014. In 2012, the Project was financially supported by the Ministry of Culture as a priority SFI and Audiovisual Fund project.

In 2012-2014 the following basic areas of activities are anticipated:

1. presentation of Slovak cinema at events abroad;
2. membership of the SFI in European Film Promotion, an international network of organisations for the promotion and marketing of European films globally;
3. professional events in Slovakia focused on an enhancement of the quality and extent of the presentation of Slovak cinema and audiovision internationally;
4. extension of the SFI film materials fund for foreign presentation;
5. issuance of promotion publications about Slovak cinema and audiovision;
6. presentation on the web, etc.

The above areas of presentation are closely linked and complementary; together they create the overall direction for the presentation of Slovak cinema and audiovision in the national and international contexts.
