The SFI transcribes film materials for organisations and institutions (production companies, museums, galleries, schools, etc.), but also for individual persons for private purposes. All transcriptions are only made provided that a completed order form is submitted. With regard to organisations and institutions, film materials are transcribed for the purposes of further professional utilisation, either directly in the SFI workplaces, or by outsourcing. Hence, steps related to the transcription can be made only on the conclusion of a licence agreement; this agreement stipulates the conditions for the provision of archived materials, the provision of the respective transcriptions and their subsequent use. The financial and time aspects of specific transcriptions depend on the type of medium required, the quantity of the transcribed material and other possible requirements of the client. Film materials are transcribed for private purposes on the basis of a completed order form; the material provided may be used solely for personal purposes.
